The manager, Mrs. Aylin, and her entire staff were extremely friendly and always willing to assist. We felt very welcome - from the moment we got picked up at the airport to the afternoon when we left and Aylin personally came to say Good Bye to us and asked how everything was. The rooms are very spacious and beautifully furnished in a modern, clear design. The rooms on the corner of the building offer a very nice view over the Bosporus and the Galata Bridge and the cruise boat harbour is only a few walking minutes away. Karaköy Rooms has a restaurant on the ground floor, which offers very tasty traditional Turkish cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere and again - perfect service. It is a popular place with a good reputation, therefore reservations are highly recommended.
There is nothing negative to be said - absolutely nothing. This will be our hotel again, for sure - when we return to Istanbul some day.
- the large room -tasteful home accesssoires - warm room
- a halfful bottle of water in the refrigerator (horrible!) - floor in kitchen and bathroom was not clean!!!
staff are freindly clean room house keeping know what they do
mosquitoes everynight location is not the best and its scary area at night because its dark streets but safe to walk
I liked the staff and cleanliness of the room.
nothing..liked the hotel at all.
- The design of the room and the quality of the furniture. - The huge bedroom size - The personnel was very helpful
Only the mosquitos in the room...
Very spacious room, very chic design. Karakoy restaurant is exquisite.
We had huge and attractive room (room 7), which was described as a studio and had a well appointed kitchen area, which we didn't actually use except for tea making. The double bed was also vast and very comfortable. The hotel provided complimentary mineral water and fruit. The room was air-conditioned and had mosquito control. Also had a spacious shower room. Breakfast was wonderful - choice of breads, jam, cheeses, olives, salami, dried fruit, fresh fruit, fresh orange juice, the best coffee anywhere! The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Good location, quiet but easy access to main sites and good restaurants.
The room scent device in the bathroom was a bit overpowering so we removed it. No other problems.
Nice big rooms with elegant design location near everything, taksim and istiqlal street Great family staff and nice hotel always fully reserved I highly recommend it
Very good rooms indeed. Clean spacious with kitchenette. Good location - in walking distance from the tram. However, some buildings in close vicinity are bit derelict - if that is a problem search elsewhere. Overall, I am very satisfied.
A boutique hotel with lots of character. The area -- situated in the Karakoy area, near the Galata bridge that connects to the 'old' Istanbul (and all the touristy attractions), the area is a sleepy local district full of hardware stores, local eateries, and derelict buildings but you'll also find a couple of trendy, painfully hip cafes and stores nearby (OPS cafe, Atolye11 and Julius Meinl among others). A very interesting mix. The hotel - a small property of 9 spacious, well-appointed rooms and a small front desk. There are no facilities here (e.g. swimming pool, spa) so it's not for you if those are a must, but the absolutely awesome Karakoy Lokantasi restaurant directly downstairs (run by the same people) is a huge and very convenient PLUS! The rooms - absolutely beautiful with a palette of greys, woods and white, and luxuriously spacious. Beds are super comfortable, we slept very well. Has a/c which is crucial in the boiling-hot summer. Owners Aylin and her husband are warm and hospitable - they're also very stylish and interesting, which explains the property and the restaurant :-)
One downside - the housekeeping staff annoyingly rearranged EVERYTHING in my room, and I mean everything including all my personal belongings. My 'dirty' laundry (including undergarments) were in a plastic bag on the floor by my luggage; the housekeeping staff actually took the items out of the bag and squashed it into my luggage! Disgusting to think of people rifling through your stuff.
Service and attention of staff are great. Everyone is very helpful and willing to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Rooms are very big, cozy and clean. Owner's restaurant in the first floor is a good option to have a non expensive, good quality turkish meal. Ailen, the owner, takes care of every guest: she's very warm and professional. Views from balcony are amazing too. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
We had a really great Studio with well picked modern furniture. Great view over the town and the Bosporus. The owners are very friendly & helpful and care about their guests. The Restaurant they have is really good, too. Thank you Aylin & Oral
Wonderful restoration. Rooms were large and modern. staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, home made jams a feature. Would recommend to anybody and close to cruise docks.
Hard to find
Very good location close to both Beyoglu and Sultanahmet. Helpful staff, spacious and bright room. We really liked the decor. Two good restaurants in the same building (Karakoy 4/5, Locanta Maya 5/5).
The building is not situated right on the shore thus the panorama to the Bosphorus is limited to 90 degree.
The hotel is a beautifully renovated old building, the rooms are clean and spacious with a modern design. The staff has been extremely helpful and kind when we asked for help when my partner fell ill. We also very much enjoyed the breakfast that was served at the hotel's restaurant, Karakoy Lokantasi, for which we heard that (among others) it serves some of the best hunkar begendi in town. Unfortunately we did not manage to try it this time, but we will definitely be coming back to do so the next time we are in Istanbul.
